The Tyger
Tyger, tyger burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
from The Tyger by William Blake
These animals are rescued and now live a life as close to normal as possible in the fantastic grounds of this sanctuary in Florida. Many have been bought as pets when they were cubs, others have been taken in from circuses. Here, one has to be quiet and treat them with dignity by giving them space.
They are awesome and I was privileged to be able to photograph this tiger.

Such magnificent beasts!
Tigers are amazing in every sense of the word. I feel in love with Blake's poem when I was a little girl and my mom read to me. Eventually, I memorized the entire thing, but have long forgotten all but the first bit. Thank you for spearing a memory.
What a lovely tomcat !
Best regards from France,
Pierre
Thank you so much for your comments, which I enjoyed reading - and for your enthusiasm.
Teresa, the verse is the last verse, which echoes the first, apart from the final two lines which are similar but not identical (in case you are re memorising the poem!!. That verse more aptly expressed what I wanted to portray.
awesome! but I wouldnt like to have them as pets lol
Great Blake quote and amazing pictures! What a great place for these tigers to rest! xo style, she wrote
What great words to match a fantastic organisation.
The tiger is so noble. I can practically see his muscles rippling under all that fur.
Beautiful photos. Big cats are so magnificent. You feel that you can ask them any question, and they will have the wisdom for any problem.
I just love all your comments about the tigers. Yes, they are truly amazing ... and you are 'spot on? (or should that be 'stripe on'? - groan!) concerning thier wisdom and problem solving abilities, Olga. I felt so at home in there and not at all intimidated - just in awe of their grandeur.
